 Families of Religions  Reformed    Christianity

Among the 16th century reformers of religion on the European continent was John Calvin in Switzerland. Calvinists were devoted to shaping society as well as individuals on the Biblical foundations. The Bible was and is seen as the Word of God revealing an orderly plan for all of life. The name Presbyterian describes both the form of church government and one of the Reformed tradition churches. A locally organized "presbytery" reflects the idea that Christ is the head of the church and all members are equal under Christ.
