resource for knowing the religious holidays and events for all world religions

About

The Interfaith Calendar was created in 1995 to provide information about world religions in a non-threatening manner. The first step was to create a create a calendar of religious events and holidays, since these settings provide a simple, understandable way to introduce religions to all. Most calendar websites are very complex. This site instead focuses on accuracy. timeliness, and simplicity. Once the calendar was online, along with definitions of terms, it became evident that people want to know about world religions themselves. Hence, we developed the Families of Religions. Every attempt was made to treat all religions the same. Information is, of course, written from a North American perspective, since that is the location and experience of the author.

This website was created in 1993 by Delton Krueger, who came from the United Methodist denomination of the Wesleyan family of the Christian religion. Rev. Krueger received degrees from Hamline University in St Paul, MN, USA, and Drew School of Theology at Madison, NJ, USA. He served as pastor in rural and urban congregations in Minnesota, USA and participated in regional church, ecumenical, and interfaith groups and organizations. He served as Co-founder and President of the Mall Area Religious Council dedicated to spiritual presence at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.

Rev. Krueger believed in showing honor to all religious traditions and expecting that people of each religion will be open and direct about their beliefs while being willing to listen to others.
